Currently, the 2nd Round Soccer Playoff Match is still scheduled
at North Moore for Saturday, November 1 at 2:00.
A final decision regarding postponement of the soccer match will be made Saturday, November 1 (morning),
per the NCHSAA, regarding the weather situation.
If the match is postponed, it will be Monday, November 3 at 5:00.
Sechrist Receivesrece $5,000 Grant
Amanda Sechrist, Exceptional Teacher at Tharrington Primary, has received a $5,000 grant from Ronald McDonald House Charities for her classroom. Sechrist wrote the grant for Exceptional Minds, an implementation model devised by the special education team to include students in the least restrictive environment. Funding for this model is necessary to provide assistive technology for students with disabilities who have difficulties learning through traditional instructional methods. The classroom will use the money to purchase boardmaker CDs, an FM system, and iPads.

2014 Zach Smith Grant Winners
Since 2010 the Zach Smith Fund has awarded grants to teachers in Mount Airy that will support the continuous efforts to improve the quality of education for students. The Zach Smith Fund was created in 2009 with gifts made in memory of Zach Smith from Z. Smith Reynolds Foundation, Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, and his family and friends.
